Aidan Levinson takes on his first leading role in a feature film with “Summer Interlude,” a coming-of-age indie drama set for release in 2026.
Set during the final weeks of summer, the film follows Levi, a restless film school reject at a crossroads between the future his parents envision and the wild, creative path inspired by a free-spirited girl he just met.
Filmed over three whirlwind weeks in Summer 2024 across Central Massachusetts and Southern Maine, the project was a collaboration between young professionals. With a grassroots budget of $20,000, supported by contributions from Seed&Spark, “Summer Interlude” brought together an ambitious team of emerging creatives.
Director Alex Lucier describes the film as “a story about young people, made by young people, for young people.” The film pulses with authenticity, vulnerability, and the chaos of being on the edge of adulthood.
Aidan is honored to have played Levi—a role that demanded both raw emotional depth and a deep connection to the film’s themes of self-discovery. In the cast announcement, Aidan Levinson described the piece as "a highly relatable portrait of a young artist facing the unknown" and noted that "as early professional creatives, we constantly grapple with the crossroads between accepting powerful realities and pursuing radical uncertainty." Stay tuned for festival announcements, behind-the-scenes peeks, and official release updates.
